A Father & Son Team
Our origin story is one of necessity. It began a couple decades ago, when we added a pool to our home. The company we hired botched the job in a big way – and I knew this because I’ve been in construction all my life. I fought with them about the numerous issues with the pool they installed, and eventually decided:
if you want something done right, you gotta do it yourself.
Seeing the lack of qualified, professional, honest craftsmen among Oklahoma City pool contractors, I decided to start building my own pools. I was determined to bring quality construction to the OKC and Edmond pool building world, using correct construction techniques and employing only the best materials and subcontractors. It’s wild how simply doing the job correctly attracts a lot more customers.
The business has grown and evolved since then. I first worked with another well-known Oklahoma City metro pool company, then ventured out on my own. Then I added my son, Josh, to the team. We’ve been working side-by-side as a father-and-son team ever since. We believe you won’t find better swimming pool contractors in Oklahoma City, because we stand by everything we do, and insist that you call us any time with any questions or concerns. At Pools and Spas by Design, we always say that though we may barely know each other at the beginning, by the time your pool opens, we’ll be best friends. It may sound weird. Call it hokey. But it’s true. And it’s not because we intend to become BFFs. We don’t do it on purpose.
Here’s the actual, honest-to-God truth: we only do business with people we like and get along with.
Designing and building custom pool, spa and the landscaping to go with it – creating your dream backyard – means we get to spend a lot of time together, getting to know each other. We just sort of naturally hit it off with our “customers.” And we like it better that way, because we’d much rather work with our best friends than our customers.
